Of course, the safety of our children, families and staff is the main focus when having to make the difficult decision to close due to adverse weather conditions. As well as maintaining everyone’s safety on the school site, the safety of everyone travelling to school is also a major consideration.

You will appreciate, in a rural environment the roads can sometimes be particularly treacherous. Any such decision will be carefully considered and we will also liaise closely with Bedford Borough and our school meals provider. School closure will be communicated through the following channels:

1) Our school website. We will aim to do this as early as possible, by 8am at the latest. The posting will be under the ‘Latest News’ tab.

2) We will endeavour to alert you of any closures via the Parentmail system where possible.

3) We are part of the school closure notifications system, provided by Bedford Borough. This is a system that shows school closure notifications via the following webpage: https://apps.bedford.gov.uk/schoolclosures/
