I am sorry that I have not written a blog for a few weeks but I have been busy trying to finish my portfolio and I am pleased to say that it is now done!! I am a fully qualified Forest School Leader which means we are officially a Forest School!

Over the last few weeks, the sun has been shining and the weather has been very hot on occasions! The trees have been a great shade for us! The children have continued to come out and blow my mind with what they do with their time outside! There is so much going on in each session as everyone is so busy and gets really stuck in! Here are some things they have been up to. The digging area continues to be a favourite place to explore! The children love to make bridges over the hole which has collectively been created. Some challenge themselves to walk across the sticks using problem solving to work out which thickness will support their weight and maybe to use more than one. Others like to jump across! Sometimes the digging area is redesigned linked with their topics or can be their imagination of a new place they have built. They have learnt that they need water to soften the area to make it easier to dig and some of the girls in Willow class have started to take mud and mix with water to get the correct consistency to make models. The slackline is offering a new challenge as they become more confident with it! 5 house points up for offer if you can walk across without the hand rail!! Tools are still being used so next year we plan to start making a skill progression book so we can really take things to another level which is very exciting!
