Happy New Year! It feels soooo good to be back in the woods!

On Wednesday it was just me as Ranger McLaughlin was not in so in the light of the winter sun Oaks and Willows enjoyed playing some old Forest School games! We played the famous "1,2,3 where are you?" , Duck, Duck, Goose and the older ones did the listening game where they were blind folded and had to listen out for someone approaching to steal the bells! It was a great start back for them.

On Thursday it was a lot chillier but Ranger McLaughlin was back so with Chestnuts and Ash had the usual den building and artwork available. The group of boys in Chestnuts who love to jump over their stick continued to do this setting challenges which was great! Also, this week we set up a slackline between two trees. The children all had a go at travelling across. In Ash Class they ask to remove the line you hold onto so they could attempt the slackline just balancing.  We plan on making the line longer one next time to continue to challenge them.

Some fabulous news is that on Friday my tools were delivered to school so next week we will be able to introduce the children to these and get them starting to make things with which is really exciting!
