Egg-citing week ahead . . .

On Monday we had a multi-sport activities event that was held at Sharnbrook Academy, where we learnt some new dance routines to the Bruno Mars Uptown Funk song. We also took part in some football training and had lots of fun learning new skills and techniques. We were all extremely excited about travelling in a double-decker bus with our class teacher and support staff.

By Tuesday, we had finished writing facts about Frogs. We drew our own labelled pictures of frog spawn, tadpoles, froglets and frogs to go in our “Frog Fact” books and are continuing with our Traditional Tales topic by reading all about “The Little Red Hen”.

We also welcomed the ‘Living Eggs’ chicken hatching programme to our school this week. We are learning about their life cycle and have all been able to see a few of the eggs hatching. Each day they are growing bigger, chirping and squeaking. All the eggs have hatched out now and the chicks have been moved out of the incubator and placed in the Brooder Box. This means we are all able to watch the chickens grow and to hold them gently, under supervision. If we put our hands out flat this is great for the chicks to safely balance on. In the Brooder box there is a lamp for warmth, water, food and bedding.

We look forward to seeing them all again on Monday after the weekend.
