We have had an exciting start to the Summer Term in Chestnut Class.

Our topic this term is all about The Romans and we are exploring the question, "What did the Romans do for us?"

Today is our Stunning Start and we all came to school dressed as ancient Romans. We enjoyed making Roman Mosaics, learning about Roman Numerals and having a Roman Feast!

In English, we have been writing Non-Chronological Reports about The Romans, demonstrating our understanding of what we have learned in History about who the Romans were and what life was like for the first Romans who live in Ancient Rome. Our outcomes are fantastic and are very informative too!

In Maths we have been learning all about analogue and digital time. This was tricky to begin with, however, we are now getting the hang of it! Ask us what the time is and we will most likely be able to tell you! We have also been learning to read, write and use Roman Numerals.

In Art, we have been learning about Roman Mosaics and how these were made. We have explored techniques we can use to make our own and experimented with different materials. Today we made our own Roman Mosaics, and they look great!

In Science, we have been learning all about the parts of a plant and their functions. We are looking forward to planting plants next week to investigate what plants need to grow.

In Geography, we have looked at the human and physical features of Italy, thinking about why Rome was the perfect place for an ancient civilisation.

We had a really fun PE lesson with Mr Cole, learning how to play Kwik Cricket ready for the sports festival he is taking us to next week, which we are all very excited about!

We also had break the rules day last Friday which was so much fun!!

Enjoy the long bank holiday weekend everyone!
