Friday 11th February 2022

What a busy last week of the half-term we have had in Chestnut Class this week!

We enjoyed working together to learn by heart and perform one of Roald Dahl's revolting rhymes. We especially enjoyed performing our retelling of the story Goldilocks and the Three Bears to Willows Class!

We have also been practising our narrative writing this week, learning to describe characters and settings, and to use direct speech in our writing. We have been using film clips from different Roald Dahl stories to inspire and support our creative writing. We have had some wonderful outcomes and we are seeing some great progress.

This week was also Children's Mental Health Week. We discussed what our mental health is and why it is important to look after our mental health, in the same way that we look after our physical health. We discussed ways we can look after and protect our mental health and created posters to teach people about this and demonstrate our understanding.

On Thursday, we also enjoyed toasting marshmallows on a campfire in Forest School, with Ranger Sansom and Ranger McLaughlin. We had to go in small groups so while we were waiting for our turn, we played lots of different team games with Miss Calvert. We enjoyed working together with people we don't normally choose to work with.

We have had a great half term and are all ready for a well-deserved rest. Have a great week off everybody!
