Friday 17th September

Please enter an introduction for your blog post here.

We have had a fantastic second week in Chestnut Class this week. The children have been continuing to work hard and we are all so impressed with their engagement and effort in lessons.

This week in English, we wrote our own stories about a journey into a dark cave. The children were very creative and used lots of fabulous adjectives and adverbs in their writing to make it more exciting and detailed. They all have a great first piece of writing and I can’t wait to see how their writing will grow and improve this year!

In Maths, we have been learning to order, compare and represent numbers. The children have worked really hard and have done brilliantly in our maths lessons this week. Keep up the good work Chestnuts!

We have also had our first Art lesson. We created our own cave paintings, painting in the style of a cave man. We used natural colours and chalks to draw prehistoric animals, like they did in The Stone Age. Their artwork looks brilliant!

Finally, we have had another great Forest School session this week. We made Bog Babies! We are loving being able to be outside in the woods one afternoon a week with Miss McLaughlin and Mrs Sansom.
