All About Us 

At Thurleigh Primary we have a superb Nursery for children from their 3rd birthday, run by our dedicated and hardworking staff.  We have a fantastic learning environment with a large outdoor area providing a stimulating learning experience.  Each day we learn through play, curiosity, awe and wonder.

We aim to provide inspiration in a calm environment.  Our holistic approach aims to develop children’s physical, social, emotional and cognitive abilities through exploring the world around them and using their imagination.  We encourage a child’s natural curiosity by going back to basics with the use of wooden resources and recycled ordinary household objects.  The children use their imagination to repurpose items into whatever they want them to be. 

The rural setting of the school offers us so many amazing materials that can ignite curiosity and enable children to experience nature up close.  We are lucky to have access to the large field and woodland area where children can learn new skills and enjoy being outside.

We cover the seven areas of learning divided into Communication and Language, Physical Development including Personal, Social and Emotional Development. Specific areas of learning are Literacy, Mathematics, Understanding the World and Expressive Art and Design
