We have had a busy first week back at school!

Before half-term, we all pretended that we were travel agents and we researched a country in Europe of our choice and created persuasive travel brochures, encouraging people to travel to our country. We all enjoyed this and are really proud of our writing!

In Science, we are learning about living things and their habitats. Before half-term, we learned about what a habitat is and looked at habitats around the world and threats to these habitats. We are now starting to learn about how we can group and classify living things.

In English, we are now writing non-chronological reports. We have learned what a non-chronological report is, who they are written for, why they are written and the key features of one. We are now writing non-chronological reports about animals of our choice. Nearly everyone is doing a different animal so we are all learning lots too!

We have just started our Art topic for this term. We are learning all about 'Aboriginal Art'. This is the artwork of indigenous Australians, who were the first Australians and are still a tribe today. We have an independent task all about aboriginal art and will also be learning how to create our own piece of aboriginal artwork.

In Music, we are very lucky as we are having weekly steelpan lessons. We are learning so much and we are really enjoying playing this instrument from South America. As our topic is 'Around the World in 80 Days', Amy, who is our teacher, is teaching us to play 'The Lion Sleeps Tonight', which is a famous song from South Africa. We are getting better and better every week and are starting to learn how to read music!

There's so much more we could tell you, we are so busy at the moment but having lots of fun learning!
