What a busy week we have had in Chestnut Class again this week!

In Maths, we have been looking at measurement, learning to measure in, and convert between, m, cm, mm and km. Although this can be quite tricky, we are doing really well and starting to get the hang of it! We have also been enjoying Daily Magic Maths Challenges, these challenges require us to apply our understanding to reason and problem solve.

This week, we finished the packaging for our potions. As you can see from the photos, we all made a label for our bottle and box to put it in. Our hard work paid off and our packaging looks great and is fit for the audience and purpose. We spent some time on Thursday evaluating our packaging against our design brief, thinking about what went well and how we could improve our designs if we were to do it again.

This week, we have also started drafting our persuasive adverts for our potions, which we will use to persuade and convince people to buy them. We have learnt about the purpose of a persuasive text and the key features of persuasive writing and we are working really hard to use these persuasive devices in our own writing. Our persuasive writing is fantastic and we have some born advertisers in our class! We will share some pictures of our final persuasive writing pieces next week.

We have also been working really hard to learn our Times Tables this academic year and we are all starting to see our progress. Some of us are even Rock Legends on TTRS now! To be a Rock Legend you must answer questions in under 2 seconds - that is really fast!

Keep up the incredibly hard work Chestnuts. You are doing so well!
