Thurleigh Primary School & Nursery

Friday 3rd December

This week in forest school we could all really feel the chill in the air of winter starting! The trees are much barer and our woodland floor is litter with crunchy leaves. This did not stop us!

All children came out ready for action to participate with Nature art, Recreating Santa's sleigh and for more children to try Whittling. We still have children to do whittling as time runs away for us so we will now need to pick this up in the New Year. The Children who did have a go were excellent! Listened and followed instructions fantastically! Children in Oaks, Willows and Chestnuts LOVED recreating a life size version of Santa's sleigh with sticks and resources found in the woods. Children cleverly used Tree stumps for his seat and for the reindeers! They also used the leaves as a reference to presents! Fantastic!

There is no Forest School next week due all the Christmas activities over the Federation but we will hopefully squeeze one more session before the Christmas break.
