We have been up to lots of exciting things in Chestnut Class this week!

On Monday, we celebrated our Marvellous Middle. We took part in a Stone Age workshop with the Theatre of Widdershins. We enjoyed a puppet show about three Stone Age characters on a mission to restart the campfire. As always, we were amazed by Andy's magical performance. We then enjoyed a drama workshop, learning to speak and act like cave men and women. We also learned a new game, which is like rock, paper, scissors called 'Mammoth, Magma and Man'. We had so much fun and loved working together in our Stone Age clans. In the afternoon, we had a 'Cave Art Experience', painting like Cave Men. As you can see from the photos, we had so much fun and really enjoyed our Stone Age Experience.

We have been working really hard in Maths this week. We have been working hard to think with a Growth Mindset and have been working more independently, choosing our challenges and asking for help when we need it. I have been so impressed with their hard work and effort this week.

This week, in Topic, we have been learning about Earthquakes. We learnt about why Earthquakes happen and how we can stay safe. As an independent task, we pretended that we had experienced an Earthquake and wrote an email to a friend telling them about our experience, the children's understanding and creativity was super.

In Science this week, we carried out an investigation to identify the most reflective materials in our classroom. We loved this discovery learning and worked together really well!

Finally, we have all been working really hard on TTRS this week. We are currently taking part in a Battle of the Bands Tournament, Chestnut Girls VS Chestnut Boys. The competition ends on Monday and we are all very competitive and working really hard on TTRS to try and win the battle!

Well done Chestnut Class, another great week!
