We have had a lovely last week of the half-term in Chestnut Class this week!

On Monday, we made our own miniature Stone Age Shelters. We had great fun working in teams to collect natural resources from the woods. We then used the things we had collected to create our own miniature Stone Age shelters, which we evaluated thinking about what went well and how we could improve them. As you can see from the photos, they looked great!

We also worked really hard creating our own information booklets about The Stone Age. We included the information we have learned this half term in school and also used the iPads to research and find some more facts to include in our booklets. Our books look great and are full of fantastic facts all about The Stone Age.

This week, we have also celebrated Black History Month, learning about the achievements and the progress of influential black people in history. We had a really reflective and thoughtful discussion and we are going to continue this learning after half term, with the children choosing an influential person from black history to research as an independent task.

We have loved learning about The Stone Age and we are looking forward to learning about Natural Disasters and Wild Weather after our week off!

I hope everyone has a lovely half-term and a well-deserved rest!
