Welcome to our school

Welcome to Thurleigh Primary School which is part of the Kymbrook and Thurleigh Federation. We are a popular, small rural school set in a lovely location in the village of Thurleigh. The school is within easy reach of Bedford and Rushden and attracts pupils from a variety of localities.

Our modern facilities, including a large purpose built hall, combine with the original Victorian building, and we are particularly fortunate in having a beautiful outside space comprised of a playing field, the school playground and a wooded area.

The school is maintained by the Local Authority and caters for the age range of 3-11 years.  We can provide wrap around care from 8 am until 5.30pm (5.00pm on Fridays), as required. We also offer a range of extra-curricular clubs for your children to enjoy.

Our bright and cheery EYFS is made up of Nursery and Reception children aged from 3-5 years. Children work together within a free-flow environment supported by a friendly staff, consisting of a qualified teacher and teaching assistants. The nursery is able to accommodate children from their 3rd birthday. Click here for more information.

Here at Thurleigh Primary, all Staff and Governors endeavour to provide the best education possible for each individual child’s needs and abilities. In addition, we are very proud of our ethos and values.

We believe that the school is more than just the curriculum that we provide for your child. We ensure that our children have a safe, secure and happy time in school helping them to grow morally, spiritually, and physically, as well as academically. The school enjoys good support from the community with regular assemblies delivered by the local Vicar at St Peter's Church, Rev. Jes Salt

There is an active group of parents who run the ‘Friends of Thurleigh’ committee who play an important part in the life of the school, both fundraising and developing links with other parents.

'Our vision is to work in partnership with families to unlock the potential of every individual. Together, we nurture a self-belief and a lifelong passion for learning.'

Our Federation Vision Statement was created by staff and governors, in partnership with our children and their parents/carers.
